About the role
Overview
Malay trips AI on register: formal written Malay and everyday colloquial speech pull in different directions, and the model blends them awkwardly. It mishandles affixes that change a word entirely and often cannot tell where Malaysian usage parts from Indonesian, which a native speaker sees straight away.
As a Malay Expert, you'll judge and correct AI output in Malay, teaching models to match the register and the region.
What you’ll actually do
- Review translations between English and Malay for meaning, flow, and register.
- Score and rank model output in Malay, catching misused affixes and mismatched formality.
- Write the better version when the model falls short, natural enough to read as native.
Roles this fits
Common backgrounds: Malay Linguist, Bilingual Reviewer, Localization Specialist.
What we look for
- Native or near-native fluency in Malay.
- A feel for affixes and for formal versus colloquial usage.
- Clear written English: your explanations are the training signal.
- No degree required. We care about what you can do, not where you learned it.
